The Conservative Party held a seat in Rugby and gained a seat from an Independent (originally elected as a Conservative) in Swindon. The Liberal Democrats held a seat in Somerset West & Taunton and gained a seat from Labour in Chichester.

The CCA has always been proud of its events programme; a key aspect of our membership offering.

There were eight by-elections this week.

The Conservative Party held seats in Mid Devon and Kent, gained a seat from the Liberal Democrats in Aberdeenshire, but lost a seat to an Independent in Tandridge. 
 

We were delighted to hold a session last night in partnership with the New Councillor Programme about keeping up as a councillor. We were pleased to be joined by Cllr Heather Blurton, Cllr Pinder Chauhan, Cllr Keane Duncan and Cllr Maria Higson.

There were two by-elections this week in Waltham Forest. Labour held both seats.

In total 254 by-elections took place last Thursday.

In February, we co-hosted an event with the CCHQ Outreach Team to encourage more women to stand as local council candidates as part of our Community Champion Programme.
