There were eight by-elections this week.
The Conservative Party held seats in Mid Devon and Kent, gained a seat from the Liberal Democrats in Aberdeenshire, but lost a seat to an Independent in Tandridge.
Labour held a seat in Norfolk but lost a seat to the Green Party in Norwich.
The Liberal Democrats held a seat in Somerset West & Taunton. In Caerphilly, Plaid Cymru were unopposed for a vacancy in Aber Valley.
