Labour held two seats in Nottingham and gained one in Flintshire from an Independent. Liberal Democrats held seats in Rushcliffe, Waverley, Somerset West and Taunton and Somerset CC.
There were nine local government by-elections this week. Conservatives gained four seats from the SNP; three seats in Aberdeenshire and one seat in Moray. Labour gained one seat from the Conservatives in Blackpool and held two seats; one seat each in Bracknell Forest and Inverclyde.R
