Local Government By-Election Results

In total 254 by-elections took place last Thursday.

Overall the Conservative Party made a net gain of 61 seats, Labour were down 24 seats and the Lib Dems were up 19 seats. Across all by-elections, the Conservative share of the vote increased by 7.73% (compared to when these seats were last contested) while Labour’s fell by 1.81% and the Liberal Democrats had a slight increase of 0.71%.

Conservatives gained one seat from Labour in Dudley.

Labour gained one seat from a Liberal Democrat (originally elected as Labour) in Greenwich.

Reform gained one seat from Labour in Swale.
