Conservatives held seats in Hillingdon and South Cambridgeshire. Labour held seats in Blaby and Cheshire East. An Independent gained a seat from Labour in Manchester. Liberal Democrats gained a seat from Conservatives on Cambridgeshire County Council. Plaid Cymru gained a seat from an Independent in Wrexham.
