Conservatives held a seat in Harrow and gained a seat from the Lib Dems in Surrey Heath. Labour held a seat in Wigan but lost a seat to the SNP in Falkirk.
There were nine local government by-elections this week. Conservatives gained four seats from the SNP; three seats in Aberdeenshire and one seat in Moray. Labour gained one seat from the Conservatives in Blackpool and held two seats; one seat each in Bracknell Forest and Inverclyde.R
